Dearest reader,
This author finds herself compelled to bear the most curious of news. Lady Laniaitte of House Haillenarte finds herself in the most salacious of scandals involving one of her chambermaids. As if the high house has not bore enough shame after losing both the Stone and Steel Vigils, over half of their serving staff has decided to part ways with the family over a prank left by Lady Laniaitte.
This chambermaid, whose identity this author has sworn to keep secret, was taken with butterflies when she discovered a sealed note in her quarters after a day’s work. Once opened, the letter revealed a confession of love from one of the knights of the house, Tirauland. Her heart brimming with joy, this maid waited with bated breath to encounter this knight again at supper.
Spotting the object of her affection, Lady Laniaitte’s chambermaid rushed over to Ser Tirauland in the dining hall, note in hand, whispering that she received her letter. The knight made a face, and a loud snicker could be heard from the Lord’s table. Lady Laniaitte watched the scene unfold with a smirk on her face.
That was the last straw for this woman of service, and she promptly crumbled her letter and tossed it in Lady Laniaitte’s face, storming out of the hall to gather her things and never return to the High Houses’ home. Word traveled through the rest of the staff, and once knowing of Lady Laniaitte’s cruelty, several others in the kitchen, chambers and stables parted ways with House Haillenarte.
This author would like to remind the members of the High Houses of Ishgard that respect is a two-way street. One should not expect upmost loyalty and devotion from your servants if you do not show them kindness and dignity in return.
We at the Crystal Chronicle will not hesitate to report on any scandals or goings-ons happening in Ishgard and beyond. If you have a story or gossip tip you would like to share, please click on our link to leave a tip with haste.
And if you are in search of employment, there are whispers of quite a few open positions at House Haillenarte.
Sincerely,
Lady Pendragon
